Meet the Face Behind the Posts

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope you experience it to be a safe space where you can feel a sense of community, resonate with some of the topics, and find comfort knowing you are not alone.  Finding balance and having healthy boundaries is so important and I struggle with that some days. We have to remember, that we are amazing and our voices matter. Self-doubt is destructive to our confidence, so we have to take a moment to breathe, and eat that last donut if that's what makes us happy!

I've learned how important it is to have my tribe of gal pals, who will not only #haha-titi (have fun & and laugh) with me but will wipe my mascara when I ugly cry, fix my bun when the Mata (crazy) in me comes out, or help me up when I fall, literally.  The women of my family have impacted me in many ways in becoming a better wife, mom, daughter, and sister. Most importantly, my mom and mother-in-law. There's a high, glass ceiling to break to match their wisdom and I wouldn't be the person I am if I didn't have their support. We all need someone to be "our person". They are not always easy to find, but if you do, nurture those relationships, value them like they're your last, and be grateful to have each other. Riding the waves of addiction in my family has taught me many valuable lessons in relationships. Until we don't share what we are going through openly, we'll never know how many others are going through the same things.

Lastly, there is a place for you with Wisdom In Waves, but if this platform is not for you, then find one that is. Life is too short to not live your life the way you deserve to. If you need to be reminded of what your self-worth is, look in the mirror. If you are struggling to navigate life in the direction you'd like to go, please talk to someone. Remember, a different perspective is a beautiful thing through the view of someone else's lens. And more than anything, have faith in the higher power that looks over us all. Thank You For Being Here!
